  Last year, our school was fortunate to receive a grant to work with Disney Jr. on an amazing production of Finding Nemo. Our students worked incredibly hard to bring this beloved story to life on stage, and the result was truly unforgettable. We're excited to share a video of our Finding Nemo production with you. Watching it again brought back so many wonderful memories of the students' hard work, creativity, and talent shining through.   Welcome to P.S. 106K, a vibrant learning community where every scholar is encouraged to shine in their own unique way. Our school nurtures students from 3K through 5th grade, providing a well-rounded education that celebrates diversity and fosters a love of learning.
  
  We offer a range of enriching programs, including a dual language program and bilingual/self-contained classes, ensuring every child can thrive. Our dedicated team includes on-site occupational, speech, and physical therapists, providing support for students of all abilities.
  
  Beyond the regular school day, we partner with the Greater Ridgewood Youth Council to offer an engaging after-school program for Kindergarten through 5th grade students.
  
  Our state-of-the-art facilities include a Disney Jr. Big Green Theatre, a hydroponics lab, media room, computer lab, and a cutting-edge STEM lab. We believe in the power of arts and cultural education, providing ample opportunities for students to explore their creativity and heritage.

  How can I clean the water in my school?
  Class 304 determined that the biggest problem in our school and in our community is the water. Our students do not like the taste and compared it to the water at home and in their water bottles. They said that their own water tastes much fresher. Students thought about how they can fix this problem at school. They remembered that during the water cycle water goes through a process called infiltration where water picks up minerals and removes toxins.

  A month jam packed with wonderful events at P.S. 106K. Woodpecker's Waffle house hosted by our Master Chefs/ our wonderful speech therapist Ms. Willie, Ms. Decandia and Ms. Estevez. Basketball Clinic hosted by the NBA Brooklyn Nets and WNBA Liberty team chaperoned by Mr. Pagan and Mr. Chambers. Senior Spirit Week to celebrate our wonderful senior class. Women's empowerment breakfast hosted by the Parent Coordinator Mr. Garcia. Pep Rally for all students taking State exams.

• 3:25 High Impact Tutoring Program Featured

  “High-impact tutoring” is one of the interventions that has been shown to be consistently effective in helping students get back on track and meaningfully increase academic achievement. Our school partnered with Literacy Trust. Sound Partners is a targeted, systematic, phonics-based reading intervention program. Literacy Trust provides comprehensive professional development, individualized coaching, and data management to support schools and community-based organizations in implementing Sound Partners.
